Justine Jackson – Racemeet #11

Just didn’t go as planned…

On November 16, 2008 The Jamaica Karting Association held its final racemeet of the season, dubbed the Abe Zaide Memorial Racemeet. This annual meet is held in memory of Abe Zaide, a past president who passed away.

Following the previous racemeet, mathematically, Justine had no chance of capturing the Rotax Senior Class Championship and therefore settled in 2 nd place for the 2008 Championship. As a result Justine decided to not compete in this class for the final racemeet of the season and opted to race in the Shifter Class.

Justine qualified 5 th and would go onto to finish 4 th in race 1, 4 th in race 2 and 5 th in race 3, finishing 3 rd overall for the day. “Today just didn’t go as planned. I really believed that we’d be running up front as we’ve had a lot of momentum winning four races in the last 3 racemeets in the Rotax Senior Class, but I guess it didn’t transfer this weekend. But it keeps me motivated and I know we’ll come back stronger next year January.” Justine commented.

A disappointing, but promising end to an awesome season for the young Formula 1 aspirant.

Justine’s Comments:

been a very successful season…

This season has been a very successful season. I’ve learnt a lot and made a lot of progress throughout the year, especially towards the end of the season. At that point I changed my approach to my races to that of trusting God to carry me through and just letting it all happen and totally getting into my zone during the week leading up to my races, among others. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs and have had many doors opened and a few closed.

This has proved to be my best season both on and off the track. I’ve met so many wonderful people and learnt a lot from each. I have had the privilege of meeting Lyn St. James and attending the Women in the Winners Circle Driver Development Program, now called the Women in The Winner’s Circle academy where I learnt what it takes to be a Complete Driver and to become a Champion. I was also blessed with the opportunity to get a taste of Formula 1 as Red Bull hosted the “Red Bull Formula 1 Urban Run in Kingston, Jamaica in May and I also watched a couple of NASCAR races in Indianapolis in July.

I look forward to the triumphs and trials of next season. Thanks to my sponsor Jetcon Corporation, Lyn St. James for inviting me to your program and of course to My Personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ without whom none of this would be possible.
