Reception at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

Editor's Notebook, September12, 2002
by T.W. Theodore

(Thunder Valley) You're invited to a reception at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca during the American Le Mans Series race weekend in September. If you are a woman who races cars as an amateur or professional, or who works in any capacity on a race team, a race car, or a race series, or who is in public relations, in promotions, in the media, or in some other field within the sport, this invitation is for you. Please join us, bring a guest, and unwind in good company after a full day of racing. You'll make new friends and renew old acquaintances.

If you can get to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula on September 21st, we'd love to see you. We hope to get to know as many folks as possible there. If you're geographically challenged for this event, let us know and help us build an event closer to your home.

Here are the particulars:

  • Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on the Monterey Peninsula, California
  • Saturday, September 21, 4:00pm until 6:00pm (immediately after the racing)
  • The SCRAMP Pit Road Hospitality Suite (Look for the sign.)
  • No cost, but, if you can, let us know you are coming by contacting:

    T.W. Theodore
    tw@thunval.com
    (847) 475-1265

We'll have refreshments and can guarantee some good conversation about all things racing. This informal opportunity for women in the sport to meet one another is being hosted by Thunder Valley Racing and sponsored by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP). SCRAMP, a not for profit organization, has operated the race track at Laguna Seca from its inception in 1957. Gill Campbell, SCRAMP's General Manager, is among the leading women in management of the sport. Many of you, I'm sure, know her or know who she is.

conversation about all things

So, join Gill, some Thunder Valley Racing volunteers, your fellow racers, and me at this first-ever event. I'm looking forward to meeting you and talking with you about your racing experiences.
