Racing: It's All in the Family

Editor's Notebook, February 1, 2005
by Karen Salvaggio

Karen Salvaggio

Amy Elizondo will be moving into the highly competitive Speed Truck Challenge Series in the 2005 season, as she pursues a career in NASCAR. Amy will be competing at tracks in the desert southwest, and serves as yet another talented and committed woman racer earning her way into higher levels of motorsports.

As is the case with many of our talented women racers, Amy has the encouragement, love, and support of her family as she pursues a career in racing. Here at Thunder Valley Racing, we recognize the behind the scenes efforts of the hundreds, and perhaps thousands of individuals that believe in and facilitate the dreams of women racers at all levels in our sport. This month, I am pleased to share Amy's story, the story of a young woman with the courage to follow her dreams of a career as a driver in the premier ranks of auto racing.
