| stood on the podium in every vehicle she has ever driven... |
Junior motorsport star Cassey Watson was at the centre of the Women in Motorsport stand at the London Motorsport Show held at the Excel Arena last weekend.
The teenage driver is quickly making a name for herself by breaking or setting numerous motorsport records. In 6 years of karting and car racing she has stood on the podium in every vehicle she has ever driven, became the first female on the podium in SAXMAX and also Junior Ginetta.
She is the only driver to stand on the podium in all 3 Junior car classes, SAXMAX, Ginetta and TCar. Also when she competed in every race at the Junior festival in 2006 completing over 320 laps at racing speed she broke the record for most races in 24 hours.
Whilst at the show Cassey signed a deal to be the face of the Girlracer brand of clothing and Accessories. Gary Wood director of girlracer.co.uk said, "we are a strong brand aimed at women with style, passion and drive, and we are proud to have Cassey as the face of the brand. At just 16 she has already become one of this country's top drivers in one of the most male dominated industries in the world. She is one of the most focused and determined young women I have met and perfectly fits our image."
Cassey said, "I am thrilled to have been chosen to represent Girlracer, they have a fabulous range of clothing with a very modern and strong image, and have a terrific website for Women drivers both on track and road."
In the new year Cassey can be seen modeling the entire clothing range on girlracer.co.uk and in retail outlets across the country.
Cassey also used the show to announce her appearence on the British Touring Car Championship undercard when she returns full time to the Playstation Junior Ginetta Championship for 2008, now racing on the biggest stage in British Motorsport.
| millions watching on live TV... |
Cassey said, "Last year it looked like I had lost my dream when we lost everything in the Evesham floods and I had to stop racing. Now things look better than ever, I will definately be in a position to mount a championship challenge next year, but now I'll be racing in front of 30000 spectators and millions watching on live TV, how exciting is that?"
