Abbott Withdraws from Grand Prix of St. Petersburg
CORAL SPRINGS, FL Mishael Abbott and the Hemelgarn
Johnson Motorsports team have elected to withdraw their entry
of the No. 91 car for Mishael in this weekend's Grand Prix
of St. Petersburg. Due to the fact that Mishael is running
a limited schedule because of the current level of funding,
the team will focus on preparing for the two races at Indianapolis
and competing for a podium at each of these races.
"We are scheduled to do more testing between now and
the Futaba Freedom 100," stated Mishael Abbott. "We
have a great group of people working with us and I expect
us to perform well when we return at Indy."
Mishael will be in St. Petersburg throughout the weekend
making appearances, doing interviews, visiting with her fans,
and drumming up sponsorship support so she can complete in
the remainder of the 2005 Menards Infiniti Pro Series season.
Mishael will appear with Racing for KidsÒ at All Childrens
Hospital in St. Petersburg Thursday morning and with other
Indy Racing League drivers at East Bay Raceway Park Saturday
night.
Menards Infiniti Pro Series is the top ladder series for
the Indy Racing League IndyCarÒ Series and incubator
for the racing stars of tomorrow. Mishael is pursuing her
formal education at Florida Atlantic University, working toward
an elementary school teaching degree, and seeking sponsorship
support to complete the entire season of Menards Infiniti
Pro Series.
