Menards
Infiniti Pro Series Driver Mishael Abbott Spots Success at
Indianapolis
INDIANAPOLIS, IN Although Mishael Abbott is
preparing to race in the Indy Racing League® Menards Infiniti
Pro Seriesä Futaba Freedom 100, she has also spent time
spotting for IndyCar Series driver Jaques Lazier and making
personal appearances with the local media and around Indianapolis.
Engineer Mike Colliver, who handles both Mishaels Hemelgarn
Johnson Motorsports Pro Series car and Laziers IndyCar,
recruited her for the spotter position.
Spotting has been a great experience, Abbott said.
I've been able to watch Jaques and all of the other
drivers from Turn 3 and see how they track through the turns.
I'm learning a lot about what lines they drive, and that should
help me as I prepare for the Futaba Freedom 100. I'm also
able to listen to the communication between Mike and Jaques,
and that will benefit me as well.
Mishael will put that experience to use as she competes in
the Menards Infiniti Pro Series Futaba Freedom 100 on Friday,
May 26, 12:30 p.m. (CDT). Television coverage begins at 1:00
p.m. (CDT).
Its hard to believe Im really here and
competing at Indianapolis. Its the first steps in a
dream realized. Im spotting for Jaques, racing in the
Futaba Freedom 100. Next step
the 500. I just want to
keep my eyes on the goal and do my very best on Friday.
While remaining focused, Mishael has still been able to appear
on local radio and television broadcasts, made visits to area
Childrens Hospitals, and helped raise funds for
Junior Achievement in a charity karting race during the month.
Menards Infiniti Pro Series is the official support series
for the Indy Racing League IndyCarsÒ Series and incubator
for the racing stars of tomorrow. Mishael Abbott is pursuing
her formal education at Florida Atlantic University, working
toward an elementary school teaching degree, and seeking sponsorship
support to complete the entire season of Menards Infiniti
Pro Series.
