Consistent
Connolly Takes Second on the Weekend
Aurora On- Amanda Connolly could be called “Miss
Consistent” after another outstanding weekend at Sunset
Speedway in the Late Model division. Connolly has finished
in the top three in the features in her last 5 starts. Including
a third place finish at Kawartha Speedway on August 6th.
Connolly battled from 7th to 3rd in heat one in her #16 Inside
Track Motorsport News/ KICX 104FM Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Heat
two Connolly made her way through traffic again to end up
4th.
Amanda lined up 7th for the 25-lap main event. She moved
up spots lap after lap, until settled into the second position
on lap 8, and remained there for the rest of the race.
“We had a good car tonight, the leader’s was just
a bit better, I was right there waiting for him to make a
mistake, but he didn’t, he did a great job. I think we
put on a good show for the fans tonight, there was great racing
all throughout the field”
Connolly maintains her 5th position in the 2004 Plan Group
Championship points standings. Closing in on third and fourth
quickly, if consistency keeps up we could see Connolly make
a solid bid for the Championship come September.

for more Late Model action this Saturday August 21st at 7pm.
