Crosby Looks to Capitalize on Experience in Colorado
Eddyville, Ky. Kim Crosby will be driving the
#26 Vassarette Chevrolet this weekend at Pikes Peak International
Raceway.
Crosby will be attempting to qualify for the field on time.
She raced at Pikes Peak last season and said the experience
will be very helpful to her this year.
It will be nice to race at a track where I do have
a little bit of experience for a change, Crosby explained.
The last couple of weeks I was seeing the tracks for
the first time and that puts you at a disadvantage because
you have to spend a good part of practice figuring out how
to run. That shouldnt be a problem this week.
Crew chief Wayne Hatfield agreed.
Kim should be in pretty good shape this weekend,
he said. She raced this track last year and that seat
time is vital. No matter how many people she talks to or how
well they explain the track, there is no substitute for actually
being behind the wheel of the car. That experience alone puts
us way ahead of where weve been the last couple of weeks.
Both practice sessions will be held on Friday morning with
qualifying following at 6:30 p.m. eastern time. The Salute
to our Troops 250 will take place at 3:30 p.m. eastern time
on Saturday and will air on TNT.
