Glen Poses New Challenges for Crosby
Eddyville, Ky. Kim Crosby will be attempting
to race on road course for the first time in her Busch Series
career on Saturday.
Ive raced several road courses on other series
but Ive never raced at Watkins Glen, said Crosby.
Racing on a road course is totally different than an
oval. Its not that your concentration level is any higher,
but youre looking for different things. It is also a
lot harder to pass so you really have to pick your spots well.
Crosby will once again be required to put the #26 Vassarette
Chevrolet into the field on time, which wont be an easy
task considering the large number of cars on the entry list.
The field is littered with Nextel Cup regulars and road course
specialists so Crosby will have to prove she belongs on the
track on Saturday.
This is a big weekend for Kim, said crew chief
Gene Allnutt. On one hand, the entry list is pretty
formidable and we know we really have to be on top of our
game to give her the best car to qualify. But on the other,
qualifying against this competition will give her a lot of
confidence going forward this season and into 2006.
The Zippo 200 will air at 2 p.m. eastern time on Saturday.
It will be preceded by qualifying at 9 a.m. on Speed.
