Sondi Eden at the Top in Namars
Crawfordsville, IN -- Sondi Eden set a goal at the beginning of the season to win a championship. She was focused on doing whatever she could to accomplish her goal. Sondi Eden not only conquered her quest but she doubled it. Sondi won the 2003 Indianapolis Speedrome Championship and the NAMARS Regional Championship, giving her 2 championships in one season! Last year, she finished 2nd in the ARCA Championship. DNFıs such as flat tires, and engine problems kept Sondi from winning more features and the ARCA Championship.
"We were getting to the front at Kentucky Speedway and something happened. I really hated that one because we were one of the fastest cars. The crew did a fantastic job preparing the car, I hated it for all of us."
Overall in 2002, Sondi raced the Stetler Chevrolet-Olds-Cadillac/Auto Meter/B&R Fire Protection/Morse Family Dentistry/Lew Wallace Inn/Schloot Furniture/Racers Edge Graphics/Brayton/Stealth/ Competition Welding to two wins, pole position award, seven top fives, and eleven top tens.
The 2003 season has turned a lot of heads towards the Eden/Correll Racing Team. Consistent podium finishes, VICTORIES, 2 pole positions, and a contender all season has helped propel Sondi Eden to find her team at the top of the point standings!
"Youıre at the free throw line, the game is tied and :01 on the clock thatıs what itıs like every race; the pressure is there. When you handle it and make the shots/have a podium finish the feeling of accomplishment is rewarding!"
Sondi mastered the variety of tracks she competed on throughout the season. A dominating performance at the Speedrome gave her another feature win!
"What a great feeling, having a car handle that well and being able to lap almost the entire field. For the most part, we were fast out of the box and to be reckoned with all day. Weıve been running in the top five consistently but it was awesome being back in victory lane, nothing like it!"
It does not just take wins, however, and usually it takes running all the events in the series.
"Obviously, you try to win every one", Sondi says. "But you try to put yourself up front and in the position to win. A lot of drivers want to win on the first lap, and they normally end up on the trailer wrecked."
"Advice I received from professional owners and drivers was to run all the races on pavement I could to better my skills and go to places that our budget would allow us to be competitive. We are doing that and doing it well! We have been selecting pavement short tracks where it is more chassis/driver skill than motor and we have been a contender all season."
Sondi Eden thrives on competition, never gives up and she is focused on accomplishing her goals. She has surpassed her goals this season by winning 2 championships with 2 feature wins, numerous heat race wins, 2 poles, 12 top fives and 18 top tens.
