Proclamation
for Sondi Eden Day in Crawfordsville Friday, October 1, 2004

There were several supporters at the championship celebration
to honor Sondi for her racing accomplishments 2004 USAC Regional Midget Championship
and the Crawfordsville Mayor proclaiming October 1st as Sondi Eden Day.
The proclamation is as follows:
Whereas, Sondi Eden was born, reared, and schooled
in the Crawfordsville and Montgomery County area during her formative years; and
Whereas, Sondi Eden distinguished herself academically
at North Montgomery High School and also at Morehead State University, earning degrees
at both institutions; and
Whereas, athletic and sporting activities have always
been an integral part of Sondi Edens life, from her prowess on the college basketball court as a varsity
scholarship player to her current vocation of automobile racing; and
Whereas, Sondi Eden has pursued her dream of automobile
racing from her earliest teenage days to the present, resulting in significant midget car success;
and
Whereas, the most recent accomplishments of Sondi Eden
have earned her the title of United States Auto Club Regional Champion for 2004;
NOW THEREFORE, I John P. Zumer, Mayor of the City of
Crawfordsville, do hereby proclaim Friday, October 1, 2004
as Sondi Eden Day in the city of Crawfordsville.
I encourage all citizens to recognize Sondi Eden for a wonderful
and successful life and career, and extend to her best wishes
for future personal and professional success.
Steve Farmer, USAC Sales/Marketing Director, was also in attendance
to present Sondi with a special plaque of significant achievement.
It reads as follows:
The undersigned certify in the name of the United States
Auto Club that Sondi Eden is hereby recognized on the occasion
of one of motorsports most significant achievements.
Her championship in the 2004 Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis
Speedrome USAC Regional Midget Car Series is the first by
a female driver in the 49-year history of Americas most
diversified sanctioning body. We salute her for this memorable
accomplishment.
It was a terrific celebration for the 2004 champion!
