Eden Finishes 6th: Quarter Mile Mayhem
Anderson, IN – A hot humid afternoon at the high
banks of Anderson Speedway faced the team. The car was pushing
in practice. Qualifying in 11th position made for a long and
difficult night.
The car was no better in the heat race despite the changes
made. Sondi finished 5th. Preparation for the feature was
intense as the crew changed springs, weight and heights.
Starting the feature was an unknown. The car was much better
however and we moved through the field to the front. Five
cars were running in the lead pack. We caught them with a
few laps remaining and finished a respectable 6th. “Tonight
tested our teams character. We were not good off the trailer,
qualified mid-pack and even after we made several changes
for the heat race the car was still not fast. I was proud
of the team for persevering! It paid off for the feature –
they found the right direction for the set up and the car
was a lot better”. Said Sondi.
NEXT EVENT WILL BE THE 410 WING SPRINT CAR ON SUNDAY 7/3
AT MANSFIELD SPEEDWAY IN MANSFIELD, OH.
Discovery Channel is going to Sondi's hometown of Crawfordsville,
IN to film her daily activities.
