Hobbs
Heading to Charlotte for EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts
100
Sunny
Hobbs will attempt to qualify for the 6th ARCA RE/MAX series
event at Lowe's Motor Speedway this coming Saturday night,
May 18th. 54 cars are currently entered. Although a last minute
entry, Sunny hopes to make the field and continue in her effort
to gain valuable experience in the ARCA series. To her benefit,
Hobbs will be driving the #91 Ford Taurus as the second car
of a two-car effort for Andy Belmont Motorsports. "Andy's
experience at these larger tracks and in ARCA should help
me get up to speed quicker this weekend."
"I
am excited to be racing at Charlotte and am looking forward
to more ARCA racing this season. It's challenging, to say
the least, to be running one-race or last-minute deals without
much sponsorship support but I'm determined to make it work.
I'm just gonna keep showing up when I can and getting myself
seat-time" Hobbs said.
For this
event FastTrack NASCAR and Apparel of Melbourne, Florida has
teamed with Sunny as the primary sponsor. Bruce Varon, owner
of FastTrack says, "Sunny is a serious racer and I am
happy to be a part of her racing effort."
Lowe's
Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile paved oval in Concord, NC. The
ARCA race begins at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. The event is a
prelude to NASCAR's same-night All-Star event - The Winston.
The EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 100 will be televised
on the Speed Channel May 19th at 8:00 p.m. and re-aired May
20th at 1:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Hobbs
competed in her first two ARCA events in 2002 - Daytona International
Speedway, the Discount Auto Parts 200, finishing 31st on the
lead lap; and at Atlanta Motor Speedway, qualifying 19th and
finishing 33rd, due to oil pump problem on lap 72.
