NayKid Racing Locks-in Lux for Three Years

Puyallup, WA -- With an eye towards retaining one of the most successful women race drivers in history, NayKid Racing owner Scotty B. White announced today that Cindi Lux would increase her role with the Puyallup, Washington-based organization. Lux, from Portland Oregon, has been named Managing Director of NayKid Racing and has signed a three-year contract extension to drive the No. 78 NayKid Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06.

Lux, whose name is synonymous with motorsports' success, was the 2003 SCCA Northern Pacific Division T1 Champion and Oregon National Driver of the Year. She and White teamed for the first time in 2003 with impressive results in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) T1 class.

In her increased role with the team, Lux, the 1999 Women's Global GT Series (WGGTS) champion in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), will direct many of the business aspects of NayKid Racing including sponsor relations, driver development, supplier relations and the expansion of future new technologies. White and Lux will also work closely on decisions that impact the direction of the team in the future. Included among these new business areas will be trackside support for the Corvette club track days and technical/chassis assistance for drivers.

"I think this collaboration with Scotty is a fantastic progression for the both of us," offered an enthusiastic Lux. "This is going to be fantastic because it allows me to focus on some new areas of development for the team. Scotty is a class act and, over the past five years, has grown NayKid Racing from a start-up to one of the most dominating teams in amateur motorsports. His vision for the future really links well with mine. But donŐt get the wrong idea; I plan to be out there competing on the track for a long-time to come."

Beyond her WGGTS title, Lux has two Petit Le Mans Porsche GT starts in the ALMS with two top-five finishes in 1999 and 2000, has earned eight road racing championships with 60 career wins, 49 podium finishes and 37 pole positions and two 24 hour race wins at Nelson Ledges. She scored three SCCA wins in 2003, a pole position, the Hard Charger Award at Phoenix and started and finished in the top-five at the Valvoline SCCA Runoffs.

"I am really jacked-up that Cindi wants to hang with us on a long-term basis," said White who, as a driver scored a remarkable tri-fecta winning the 2003 T1 Divisional title in the Southern Pacific SCCA division, as well as the Ő03 SCCA Pro Solo and Solo II class Championships. "We're looking forward to expanding what NayKid Racing does and Cindi has the expertise and knowledge to take us further into different places. Sometimes I am so involved in my trucking business that I canŐt always address things as quickly as I would like; having Cindi as the 'go-to' person is a great asset. This team is like my baby. We grew it from scratch. Like your own child; you don't just trust it to anyone. I can't think of anyone else that I would feel comfortable entrusting with this. I feel that this is a great step forward for both NayKid Racing and for Cindi."

NayKid Racing won 11 of 13 T1 races entered in 2003, earned 15 podium finishes, 11 pole positions and set six track records. Since its creation in 1998, NayKid has earned six SCCA division T1 titles, as well as five SCCA Pro Solo Championships and seven Solo II titles.

The team made history at Mosport in 1999 becoming the first Corvette team to win a SPEED World Challenge GT race. White finished as runner-up in Rookie of the Year honors that same year. Over the course of his two season participation in SPEED World Challenge GT, White finished in the top-10, an amazing 78% of the time!
