Racing Gearing up for 2003 Season
Innisfil,
Ontario (February 25, 2003) - Tara MacLeod and the MacLeod
Racing Rubbermaid team are busy putting the finishing touches
on their Astro powered Ford Taurus for the upcoming racing
season.
With
primary sponsors Rubbermaid and Sharpie back on board, the
2003 season should prove to be an exciting one for the Late
Model racer. “We are thrilled to promote a company whose
products we can truly stand behind and who are as excited
about the upcoming season as we are,” said MacLeod.
The
Rubbermaid show car will be appearing at Home Depot, Canadian
Tire, and Wal Mart locations across Ontario throughout the
entire racing season.
“Rubbermaid is always looking for fun ways to support
our retail partners and to introduce our products to the retail
customer. The race car and team are a fantastic way to draw
fans and customers to our events,” stated Ian Eckstein
of Rubbermaid.
It’s
been a busy winter for the MacLeod Racing crew who have just
finished construction of a brand new shop that will be home
for the three cars that make up the MacLeod Racing stable.
The
team is looking to get back to the success of the 2000 season
where they were dominant throughout the year collecting 13
victories and finishing a strong third in the final point
standings. “We came close to the championship that year
but ended up with three DNF’s and the two guys that finished
ahead of us completed every race, but that’s racing,”
said Crew Chief and Tara’s husband Dwayne.

Racing www.taramacleod.com will be campaigning their number
37 car in the Late Model division on Friday nights at Kawartha
Downs Speedway in Fraserville.
The
team is also pleased to announce the return of several associate
sponsors, which include Castrol, Fast Eddie Racewear, The
RV Warehouse, Instant Custom Signs, Simcoe Shores Golf &
Country Club and KP Graphics. New for the 2003 season is the
addition of Mothers Wax as an associate sponsor.
