Dana Moore Finishes 7th and 8th Place
Dana
Moore, of El Cajon, California finished 7th and 8th place at two
Legend Car races held this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
It was the kickoff to an eight race series that will take place
over the winter on the inside road course of the Speedway in Las
Vegas. 49 cars showed up for the first weekend of races. Moore finished
with a solid 7th place in the first race on Saturday. Sunday's race
started off with some bad luck for Moore after the car's rear axle
broke during a practice session. The car couldn't be fixed in time
for the qualifying race, which put Moore in a desperate situation
to make the main event. Starting in the back of the B main Moore
passed nearly the entire field to finish second. She was able to
make the main event race where she started in the 26th position.
Moore drove a hard race avoiding several close call wrecks and making
several passes. She was able to finish the race in 8th place.
"It
was tough starting in the back of the pack for the race. I was really
fast but kept getting held up in traffic. I wish there were more
laps in the race because I think I could have gotten into the top
five." Said Moore.
Moore
was turning race times close to the leader and winner of the event
Kyle Busch, who is the younger brother of the famed NASCAR driver
Kurt Busch. Moore plans to race the entire eight race series with
hopes of becoming the Silver State Champion.
