Renshaw Excited About 2004 ARCA Program
January
27, 2003 (Mooresville, North Carolina) Deborah Renshaw
looks for the 2004 ARCA Re/Max Series season to be her best
ever in racing and given her past accomplishments that
is saying a lot. The 26 year old Renshaw will pilot the #64
DODGE of Braun Racing for approximately 15 races including
the 13 race Superspeedway Challenge events. She joins Braun
Racing teammate Ryan Hemphill for the 2004 season.
Wow,
what an opportunity that I have for this season, said
Renshaw. First of all, it is really neat to have the
opportunity to be teammates with Ryan. He is a true young
talent in this sport and I think we will help each other a
lot. Braun Racing is a very strong race team with so many
resources and that will be a big help throughout the season.
Renshaw,
a native of Bowling Green, KY, has made 9 starts in the ARCA
Re/Max Series over the last two seasons. Her impressive performances
have included 6 top 10 qualifications along with 5 finishes
in the top 11. Renshaw is also a veteran of Late Model racing
in the Nashville area and gained the attention of the motorsports
world when she became the first female to lead a points
race in a NASCAR sanctioned series as she did so at the infamous
Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
The
2004 ARCA Re/Max Series season will also see Renshaw contend
for the Rookie of the Year honor. I cherish the opportunity
to contend for what is becoming a very prestigious honor,
stated Deborah. Some great drivers have won this award
and it has been a spring board for a bright future
and want to add my name to that list.
Renshaw
and her #64 team will be headed up by new crew chief Greg
Tester. Greg is a veteran shock specialist in NASCAR who has
worked for such organizations as Richard Childress Racing
and Roush Racing. I feel very fortunate to have Greg
as my crew chief this season, said Renshaw. I
have known Greg for about a year and each time I am around
him I am impressed with his knowledge of this sport. He is
the last crucial piece to the puzzle for this team and something
that will guide us to great success.
Deborah
will head to Daytona next week to start her 2004 campaign
with the season opening Advance Discount Auto Parts 200 at
the Daytona International Speedway. The 200 mile race will
be televised LIVE on the SPEED CHANNEL at 4:00 p.m. EST on
Saturday February 7th.
