Renshaw
Tests at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Preparation for Texas
As a rookie
in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season, Deborah
Renshaw finds herself faced with the challenge of learning
new race tracks every weekend. While Renshaw has not yet raced
or even taken a lap at the Texas Motor Speedway, she and her
K Automotive team spent Monday and Tuesday of this week testing
their No. 29 Motion Dealers Ford at a track very similar,
the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Ford Racing hosted a test session
over the two days allowing several teams to take to the race
track. Renshaw and the team saw this as a great opportunity
to not only test their Texas truck, but also give Renshaw
some experience on a track very much like the 1.5-mile speedway
she will be competing on Saturday afternoon.
It
was a pretty good test session at Atlanta, said Renshaw.
Unfortunately we were cut short by rain on Tuesday,
but I was able to get quite a few laps in over the period
we had Monday and I think it will help my confidence level
heading into Texas this weekend. As a rookie at these race
tracks, I just dont have a lot of time to learn the
tracks and thats why test sessions are so important,
especially in a situation like this where we were able to
test at another race track that was very similar to the one
we will be racing on this weekend. Our K Automotive team also
has some great notes from Texas after the win and strong runs
they have had over the years and Im sure that will help
us out as well this weekend.
The Silverado
350K will take the green flag at 1:00pm CT on Saturday afternoon
and will be carried Live on Speed Channel and MRN Radio.
