Deborah Renshaw Milwaukee Preview

Milwaukee, WI–Deborah is coming off her third consecutive solid finish after coming home 21st last week at the Michigan International Speedway.

“I really do not know what to expect this week at Milwaukee. I have never seen the place before but I have tried to talk to as many people as possible to learn what I can about it. Also each week I watch a tape of the race from the previous year at the track to just see what type of race it has been in the past. Milwaukee is a flat track and seems to be somewhat similar to Gateway so I will use the information we learned from racing and testing there earlier this season. I have some solid momentum going and my guys are on top of their game in giving me a strong truck each week. It will be important for me to get some good laps in during practice and get as familiar as I can with the track for the race. We have our work cut out for us this week but I think we will put together another strong outing.”

With her impressive run the last three weeks, Renshaw has entered back into the all important top 30 of the owner’s standings. “With the new qualifying procedure that NASCAR put into place this season it is very important to be in the top 30 of the owner’s points,” said Deborah. “It puts so much pressure on you when you have to fight for one of those final six starting spots in the field – we fell victim to that earlier this year at Lowe’s and that makes it so much harder to catch up. Also, it makes it harder to prepare for the race since you have to use so much of your practice time to concentrate on qualifying trim and then we get impounded so there is no happy hour. This week we will be able to work on both race and qualifying trim and get ourselves good for the race. It definitely makes things a little easier and now we need to make sure that we are able to stay in the top 30 and not fall out – it is so crucial in so many ways.”

Deborah will be racing “Trix” this weekend at Milwaukee. This will be the fourth race of the season for Deborah in this truck with the previous starts being at Daytona, Martinsville and Mansfield. Deborah will be making her first career start at the famous Milwaukee Mile this weekend. This will mark the sixth time this season where Deborah has made her first visit to a track in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
