Audrey Zavodsky Introduces the Ford Motor Company's Mustang Mach I

Audrey was privileged to be a part of Ford Motor Company's introduction of the Mustang Mach I. This event took place in New York City at Manhattan Ford. Manhattan Ford is a several story parking structure turned in to a Dealership.

The setting for the introduction was that after all the media people were gathered on the 3rd level of the building, Audrey would come around the corner with a the new Interceptor Ford police car in hot pursuit. Audrey had Ford Division President, Jim O'Connor with her and Vice President Chris Theodore accompanied the other driver.

As the media people gathered in to a room that had a very subtle restaurant setting with a roped off area, the shrill sound of a police siren split the air. The next sound they heard was the Mach I's tires grabbing for traction. The Mach I's tires whistled as Audrey drove the Mustang up the curved ramp from the second floor and brought the car to a halt in front of the media with the police car in hot pursuit.

Chris and Jim, then did a reenactment of someone being pulled over after a chase. Jim said that he wasn't concerned about the high rate of speed that they came up the ramp with because he was with an accomplished and proven race car driver. He announced that she was sponsored by the Visteon Corporation and was employed by the Ford Motor Company as a Corporate Nurse. He also mentioned her recent 2nd place finish in the Pro GT series.

Chris and Jim continued to talk about the features of the two vehicles and the excitement at Ford Motor Company about building them. The media was anxious to take a closer look and were impressed by what they saw. They had several questions about the new vehicles. Audrey was besieged by several of the media people asking questions as well as fielding questions about her
professional driving experience.

Jim Padilla, executive vice president was also there along with Car Line Director, Mike Zevalkink and his wife Anna. There was a host of Ford representatives such as communications director Dan Bedore that also attended this event.

The next day Audrey addressed the Women's Automotive Association International at the Jacob Javits center which is where the New York Auto Show is headquartered. The facilities were top notch and the speech was enthusiastically received by the audience. Audrey gave out many packages of Ford items that were provided by the company along with her Visteon hero cards. Audrey fielded several questions about Visteon, its products and services.

Audrey then went upstairs by the Ford exhibit to sign autographs by the Mach I and other Ford vehicles. Audrey was asked by the VW people to come over because they wanted to meet her and had Audrey sign Visteon hero cards for them. This scene was repeated at many of the exhibits.

Audrey was very proud of being able to this for the Ford Motor Company as well as give her race sponsor some publicity. Mr. Chris Theodore arranged for Audrey to be a part of this Mustang Mach I introduction.
