Ashley Bridgham

Type of Racing: Open Wheel

Race Series: QMA (Quarter Midgets of America)

Introduction: Ashley Bridgham's father had owned a quarter midget race car when he was young but never had the chance to race. Acknowledging a Quarter Midget Race Track next to Thompson Speedway, he was tempted to ask Ashley if she'd like to try it out. At age 8 1/2, her first car was the prettiest one. The first time she ever drove was in a little, paved parking lot with mini cones outlining a oval. It took her about an hour to make a first lap. At this time it may not have seemed like racing was her destiny.

Current Season: Each year of racing at her home track in Thompson, Ct. Ashley's first place finishes increased and so did her love for the sport. Quarter Midget Racing became a family event and was enjoyable for everyone, including traveling all of the U.S. and meeting many great new people. She now has retired from QMA but has a 600cc Micro Sprint waiting for her in the basement for in the fall to be raced at Whip City Speedway.

Racing Goals: Ashley hopes she will take on racing for as long as she's concerned. She has raced Quarter Midgets for 7 years of her life and now is moving on to a 600cc Micro Sprint in the fall of 2006. Racing has had a huge impact on her life and she would never trade her experiences for the world.

Personal: Ashley is single and focusing mainly on school work and keeping her grades up to have a responsible reputation. She likes to spend time with her family and her friends as well. Ashley likes to have a good time but also likes to be alone and things to be settle and relaxing. She is very laid back and doesn't hate much of anything.

Special Thanks to: Ashley would like to thank her Dad and Mom for everything they've done to keep up with competitive racing. She would also like to thank her younger sisters for always cheering her on even if they weren't there to watch as she drove her heart out each race. Ashley would like to say thank you to her Uncle George for helping her dad with anything he possibly needed and traveling many weekends just to show he cared.
