WAAI Announces Free Event Entry for Women Racers

Attention women racers! The Women’s Automotive Association International (WAAI) has announced plans to host the second annual Women in Racing event. Festivities will include a cocktail reception, a meet and greet with participating women racers (great PR and media opportunity), and a special presentation honoring legendary driver Janet Guthrie. Attendance is expected to exceed 300 .

Thunder Valley Racing is pleased to support this exciting event! Women racers should:

1. Wear racing attire

2. Be ready to meet with the public and sign autographs

3. Welcome to bring their cars if they wish – since we are having a larger crowd the cars will be displayed at the entrance of the building

4. They will be comped for the event

5. They can bring give-a-ways

6. A program book for autographs will be developed. Send a digital photo and short bio to Lynn Wilhelm at lmwassoc@aol.com to be included in the book.

The Women’s Automotive Association International has partnered with local radio station Classic Rock WCSX, to promote the event. Plans include an on-air interview with Janet Guthrie as well as commentary by WAAI founder Lorraine Schultz, and other key leaders from the WAAI organization.

The Women in Racing event has been scheduled to follow the October 5 Automotive Hall of Fame Induction – an annual black tie affair inducting individuals into the Hall of Fame. This year, the Hall is inducting Don Garlits, the “ Big Daddy” of drag racing.
